Destiny 2: Dead Man's Tale Exotic scout rifle revealed

What you need to know

• Following the February 16, 2021 Destiny 2 weekly reset, the Exotic scout rifle Dead Man's Tale became visible in the game's Collections tab.
• The weapon features a sleek wood and metal chassis with decorative golden trims.
• The weapon's quest is available now. Getting the first step involves taking a new route at the start of The Arms Dealer Nightfall Strike.
• The Exotic perk gives you bonus damage and reload speed for precision hit chains. There's also a perk column for random rolls, which will most likely be added later in Season of the Chosen.
• There's also a catalyst slot for the weapon, meaning that it will be able to be masterworked.

Following the February 16, 2021 weekly reset of Destiny 2, a new Exotic kinetic scout rifle called Dead Man's Tale became visible in the game's Collections tab. Additionally, the first step of the weapon's quest, Presage, became available. To get it, load into The Arms Dealer Nightfall Strike and instead of going left after the first corner as usual, go right instead and through the open door to where turrets are set up. Follow the path until you reach a storage crate that you can obtain a signal from, starting the quest.

The Dead Man's Tale is quite the looker as far as Exotics go. Between its wood and metal chassis and the decorative golden trims, it's a very sleek weapon. The Exotic perk, Cranial Spike, makes it so that landing chains of precision hits rewards you with improved damage and reload speed. Notably, there's also a visible random rolls perk column like there was for Season of the Hunt's Hawkmoon Exotic hand cannon. This means that later on during Season of the Chosen, we'll have a way to farm for random rolls of the Dead Man's Tale as well. There's also a catalyst slot on the weapon, so you'll probably get a catalyst from the random roll farm too.
