Syncing tasks between Outlook and Microsoft To Do just got a lot easier.
What you need to know
- Microsoft Outlook on Android now shows your top three tasks in the search section.
- You can check these tasks off and sync their completion with Microsoft To Do.
- If you clear or edit a task within Microsoft To Do, it automatically syncs within Outlook.
Microsoft Outlook on Android recently received an update that makes it easier to stay on top of tasks. Now, the app's search section shows your top three tasks from Microsoft To Do. The tasks are actionable, so you can mark them as completed directly within Outlook.
The app brings Outlook to version 4.21.04.2. Here's the description of the update, as found on the app's changelog:
Stay on top of your tasks - now your top 3 tasks are available on the Search home page. Mark them done right in Outlook or tap to manage more tasks in To Do.
These tasks sync with Microsoft To Do, so when you check a task as completed within Outlook, it's cleared within Microsoft To Do. This also works in reverse, allowing you to only show relevant tasks within Outlook.
The update started rolling out on February 12, 2021, so it should be available for anyone.
