After initially sticking to a vague 2021 window when the game was revealed at Sony's Future of Gaming showcase, Capcom announced the release date in January 2021, when preorders for the various editions of Resident Evil Village became available.
What else do we know about Resident Evil Village?
Resident Evil Village is a sequel to the 2017 game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Much like Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village has players again take on Ethan Winters' role in first-person. Ethan finds himself in a mysterious snowy European village, where werewolf-like beast creatures and what appear to be vampiric witches are all lurking. Longtime Resident Evil character Chris Redfield is also present in a big way, though the exact role he plays remains to be seen.
