Best answer: There are no plans to bring Age of Empires 4 to consoles, including Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. However, developers have stated that a console version is not ruled out completely.
Why Age of Empires 4 isn't coming to consoles … for now
The real-time strategy (RTS) genre relies heavily on precision pointing and as many actions per minute as possible. This naturally translates to a keyboard and mouse setup. And while keyboard and mouse are becoming more common on consoles — the Razer Turret is a perfect example of high-end console hardware — Age of Empires 4 developers have stated that they're focusing first on PC. The original Age of Empires trilogy has always been a PC-first experience, and for now that's not going to change.
However, there was also a "Stay tuned for now" message that implies Age of Empires 4 on consoles isn't ruled out entirely. We will all have to wait and see whether or not the game spreads to more platforms than just PC.
