We shared a deal a couple weeks ago that combined LG's 27GN800-B UltraGear gaming monitor with an Xbox controller for a unique discount, but today's deal is even better than that because it's just a straight direct price drop on the monitor itself. You can get LG's 1440p monitor on sale for just $296.99 at Amazon right now. This is a huge price drop and the lowest price we've ever seen for the monitor. It beats out the $50 discount we saw last time because this screen's street price is around $400. It had never dropped lower than $340 before today. You can find this deal price-matched at a couple of different retailers like B&H.
If you're a gamer, the specifications on the monitor are ideal. It's a 27-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a 1 ms response time. It also uses an IPS panel, which is crazy given that IPS panels usually have much slower response times. Some reviews have called it one of the fastest response times ever measured for a panel like this.
IPS panels also ensure really great viewing angles, so the picture won't fade just cause your chair is crooked. And you also get good color accuracy with SRGB 99% color gamut and HDR 10 support. The display is virtually borderless on three sides, which gives it a sleek look that's also extremely immersive.
With those stats and the adaptive sync technology built in, you won't notice any motion blur while gaming. It defaults to AMD FreeSync tech, which works with your AMD graphics card to reduce screen tearing. However, it's also officially compatible with Nvidia G-Sync, so you can use this with your Nvidia graphics card as well. Just plug in via DisplayPort to get that G-Sync tech working. You'll want to use the DisplayPort anyway for gaming because it's the best way to ensure you're getting the 144Hz refresh rate.
