Teams users are running into outages to start the day for the third time in a span of just a few weeks.
What you need to know
- Microsoft Teams appears to be down for some people right now.
- Outage reports started increasing around 10 AM ET.
- Microsoft has not confirmed or commented about the outage at this time.
Microsoft Teams is down for some people to start the day. Outage reports began spiking on Downdectror around 10 AM ET. The outage doesn't appear to be as severe as some of the other recent outages of Teams, though affected people will still be frustrated to start their workday in the United States.
At this time, the Microsoft status portal does not mention any outages for Microsoft Teams. That could indicate that the outages aren't affecting many people. Downdetector relies on people reporting outages, so the raw totals of reports are not usually indicative of the severity of outages. Instead, it's a useful tool for spotting spikes and trends.
Unfortunately for those that rely on Microsoft Teams, outages appear roughly once each month.
This is an ongoing story, so we will update this post as more information becomes available. There were notable outages in February, two in March, and one in April.
Microsoft Teams has over 145 million daily active users. With such a large pool of people using it, it's more likely that some number of people will run into issues. That being said, regular outages can affect the perception of a service like Microsoft Teams.
