Butt Stallion is making a heroic comeback along with a few new faces in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, a fantasy-themed Borderlands spin-off.
What you need to know
- Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is the latest adventure from Gearbox Software.
- It stars the popular character from the Borderlands series and features new and returning mechanics.
- Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is expected to release in early 2022.
Just ahead of E3 2021, Summer Games Fest kicked off with a bang as Geoff Keighley introduced Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox's latest adventure in the Borderlands universe. If the trailer indicates anything, we can expect some more of the zany fun that we've come to know and love from the franchise.
The trailer doesn't give much away, but Wonderlands does feature a star-studded cast with Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, and Ashly Burch. After the announcement, Burch took to the stage to reveal a few little details about the game. Though it stars Tiny Tina, it's not a normal Borderlands game. Instead, it more fantasy-themed and features its own mechanics like magic, similar to Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragonkeep DLC in Borderlands 2.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is expected to release in 2022 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The developer did not detail any enhancements on current-gen consoles, but it will likely support higher resolutions and higher frame rates.
If you haven't played any pf the Borderlands games, they each star four Vault Hunters who wander across the wasteland in search of untold treasures within alien vaults. Monsters and mayhem are all but guaranteed in this chaotic world. Lovingly dubbed a looter shooter, Borderlands features billions of guns that you can acquire through different means, and they aren't your typical weapons, either.
