New Elite armors, energy sword skins, and more await.
What you need to know
- Season 7 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection (MCC) is now live for all players on both the Xbox and PC versions of the game.
- Season 7 focuses on Elites, with several new Elite armor sets, energy sword skins, and more now available for players to unlock.
- The season's content is available for free; like previous seasons, players unlock new items by playing and getting experience so they can level up and use seasonal points.
343 Industries has announced that season 7 of Halo: MCC is now live for all players on both the Xbox and PC platforms. Dubbed "Season 7: Elite," this season is primarily focused on the Elites that players have worked with, fought against, and played as in multiplayer across the Halo games.
In terms of what's new in Season 7: Elite, players can obtain several new armor sets for Elites in Halo 3 as well as a plethora of new skins for the energy sword. Other types of skins and player profile nameplates are available, too, and there's even a new Halo Infinite-inspired Mk. VII helmet that you can get for Halo 4 right away by going to The Exchange tab in-game.
As with all of the previous Halo: MCC seasons, the new content on offer is completely free to unlock. To get it, you simply need to play the MCC and accrue both experience and seasonal points by finishing matches and completing challenges. This experience will level up the (free) season pass, which will then allow you to use any seasonal points you've earned in gameplay on the new cosmetics.
Overall, are you excited to jump into Season 7: Elite? Let me know. As a huge fan of the Elites, I'm hyped to start unlocking these new armor sets while I wait for the Halo Infinite beta. If you don't have the MCC, I highly recommend getting it as it combines all of the pre-Xbox One Halo games into one and upgrades them with modern features like UHD 4K support, 120 FPS support, adjustable FOV, and more for just $40. This makes it one of the best Xbox One shooters available, and a game that you definitely shouldn't overlook. On PC, the game has been played by over 10 million people, making it one of the most popular sci-fi games on the platform right now.
