During the joint Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 showcase, it was revealed that Hades is coming to Xbox Game Pass on August 13, 2021. The popular roguelike first released in 2020 for PC and Nintendo Switch after an early access period in 2018.
Hades follows Zagreus, the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the Underworld to reach Mount Olympus. It's a roguelike dungeon crawler featuring hack and slash combat as you make your way through procedurally-generated rooms full of various enemies. You'll die constantly, but that's part of the progress.
It became an instant indie hit that won multiple game of the year awards for its gameplay, story, and art. We already knew that developer Supergiant Games was bringing it to Xbox sometime soon, but knowing that it will hit Xbox Game Pass on day one is a nice bonus. Players will be able to play it across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and mobile with Cloud streaming.
