Video editors, developers, and anyone who needs to leave their PC running should appreciate the latest feature for PowerToys.
What you need to know
- The latest update to PowerToys lets you keep your computer awake on-demand.
- The feature is a useful option for developers compiling files or video editors who may want to leave their PC running.
- The update also includes a lengthy list of changes, including an updated Color Picker.
PowerToys is an app built for power users on Windows. It includes features like PowerRename, a built-in color picker, and FancyZones for more complex snapping of windows. Two new updates recently rolled out for PowerToys, though the most recent update just includes one additional stability improvement over its predecessor.
The biggest addition in the updates is the ability to keep a PC awake on-demand. This is a useful tool for anyone that needs to leave their computer on without any interaction, such as video editors rendering a video. Being able to keep a PC awake on-demand means you don't have to swap your computer's power plan each time you need it to stay awake.
The latest update to PowerToys brings the app to v0.41.3, which includes a fix for a stability issue in v0.41.2. Version 0.41.2 has a lengthy list of changes:
