Xbox owners could see PS5 controller features in the future.

Microsoft and Sony opted for different approaches in designing new controllers for the latest generation of consoles, the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5. The latest Xbox controller is something of a refresh, with slight changes like improved grips and a screenshot button. Meanwhile, Sony's DualSense is a complete deparature in many ways from the DualShock 4. In the future however, we might see Xbox borrow some of the features used in the DualSense.
Speaking with the crew at Kinda Funny and as noted by VGC, executive vice president of gaming at Microsoft and head of Xbox Phil Spencer talked a bit about the DualSense controller and stated that there are things about it that could be incorporated into future Xbox controllers.
"We're definitely thinking about different kinds of devices that can bring more games to more places. There's probably some work that we'll do on the controller. I think Sony's done a nice job with their controller and we kind of look at some of that and there are things that we should go do," Spencer noted.
There's a long list of PS5 games that support DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with the list continuing to grow as more and more games are announced. Our own Xbox editor Jez Corden previously noted that the DualSense uses features that Xbox should adopt, while a survey from Microsoft earlier this year asked if Xbox owners want to see DualSense features brought into Xbox controllers.
