Take flight before Bungie patches this fun glitch.
Bungie officially launched Season of the Lost in Destiny 2 following the reveal of the upcoming Destiny 2: The Witch Queen expansion, but unfortunately things haven't gone as smoothly as the developers (and fans) hoped they would. There are quite a lot of Season of the Lost bugs and launch issues present in the game right now, but amidst all of the annoying crashes and broken quest steps, there's some fun to be had.
Currently, the dome shields that protect the Scorch Cannons during the Fallen Walker Public Event on the EDZ aggressively repel players away from them. This prevents players from being able to make the event Heroic by disabling the shields with Arc batteries dropped by the walker, but there's a silver lining to this issue: by trying to force your way closer to the shield with your Sparrow speeder bike or movement abilities like Phoenix Dive, you can significantly increase how hard the shield pushes you away — to the point where you'll be launched high into the skybox or directly into the side of a rock at ridiculous speeds. Check out the clip below:
A friend sent me this in our Discord, I kinda don't want this bug to leave lol.

You can yeet yourself into the sky during the Fallen Walker public event right now#Destiny2 pic.twitter.com/j8iU2W5Rvp
The fun doesn't stop there, though, because if you eventually get bored of bouncing around like a madman and want to destroy the walker and finish the Public Event, there's a chance your rewards chest will be flung into the sky, never to be seen again. This is because the "bouncy" effect of the shields seems to persist even after they despawn, and if the public event chest is in that effect's radius when it spawns, it will likely get bounced between each "bouncy zone," gaining speed with each bounce until it's launched to the heavens. The hilarity of watching it happen is a better reward than some mediocre gear, anyway.
Overall, it's always funny to see physics glitches in games, and this is easily one of the funniest ones that I've observed during my time as a Destiny 2 player. This isn't even the only bug associated with this Public Event right now, either, as weakening the Fallen walker will cause it to spawn dozens of Arc batteries instead of the usual number. We're not sure what Bungie broke with this Public Event when it launched Season of the Lost, but we're definitely going to take advantage of its newfound yeet potential before the developers fix it.
