Reserve your copy ahead of Halo Infinite's full release.
The next big entry into the Halo series, Halo Infinite, is one of the most ambitious games ever made by series developer 343 Industries — and it might end up being one of the best Xbox games ever. Not only will the game feature a deep and expansive campaign with open world elements and the return of the Banished faction from Halo Wars 2, but the game will also have a free-to-play live service-style multiplayer that returns the franchise to its sandbox-focused roots and aims to deliver fans a satisfying gameplay experience (check out our Halo Infinite hands-on impressions for more on what makes the multiplayer so fun). Halo Infinite, like most of its predecessors, will also come with a Forge mode that allows players to create and edit maps to play on with their friends in Custom Games multiplayer.
Following the recent conclusion of the first Halo Infinite beta test, preorders for the game officially went live. Here's everything you need to know about preordering the game ahead of its launch in Holiday 2021, including what bonuses there are, what editions are available, and where you can buy Halo Infinite.
Halo Infinite preorder:
Halo Infinite preorder: Bonuses
While we're expecting Halo Infinite preorders to offer some sort of bonus, no bonuses have actually been announced yet. This could be due to the fact that Microsoft and 343 Industries are still finalizing the bonus that people who preorder will get, or it could also be because a formal announcement is coming soon. It could also be because there simply won't be preorder bonuses available, which would be disappointing, but is also fairly unlikely.
In terms of what we're expecting to see as preorder bonuses, it's reasonable to expect that players who preorder will be able to access Halo Infinite early. There's also a good chance that players who preorder will have access to unique cosmetics, such as armor coating skins. People that preorder may even gain access to some sort of exclusive closed beta test prior to the game's full launch, or may alternatively get early access to an open beta.
Halo Infinite preorder: Available editions
We expect that like most other AAA games, Halo Infinite will have several different editions to choose from when preordering or buying the game. For now, though, the only edition available is the Halo Infinite Standard Edition. This edition of Halo Infinite costs $60 and includes the following:
- Halo Infinite game
- Singleplayer campaign
- Multiplayer suite
- Forge map editor/creation tool
Note that the Halo Infinite multiplayer will be available for free as a standalone experience. Also, the Halo Infinite Standard Edition is available in both a physical and digital format. The Xbox version of the Standard Edition (playable on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One) is currently available, but the PC version (Steam and Microsoft Store) of the Halo Infinite Standard Edition currently is not.
In terms of what other editions of Halo Infinite we're anticipating, we expect that there will be Deluxe and/or Ultimate Editions of the game that feature collectibles, pieces of merchandise, and exclusive pieces of in-game content.
Halo Infinite preorder: Where to buy
In terms of where you can currently preorder Halo Infinite, the Standard Edition of the game is available on both Best Buy and Amazon. Both the physical and digital versions of the game are available from both retailers, and the $60 price is also identical across both sites. There's a Steam and Microsoft Store listing for Halo Infinite, but neither of them currently have preorders available (we expect this to change at some point soon). In the future, it's possible that preorders for Halo Infinite will go live at retailers such as Walmart, Target, Gamestop, and more as well.
