Twitter is working on a fix for its Chirp font on Windows 10

Twitter's Chirp font caused a lot of people to chirp up with complaints online.

What you need to know

  • Twitter has identified an issue with its Chirp font on Windows 10.
  • In some cases, the font appears nearly illegible, which caused many to complain online last week.
  • Twitter is working on a fix for the issue.

Last week Twitter started rolling out its new Chirp font across its apps, including the one on Windows 10. While Twitter designed the font to be legible and have good density, an issue on Windows 10 made characters difficult to read. Twitter has identified the issue and is working on a fix.

When the Chirp font rolled out to Windows 10, many complained on the web about its legibility. Twitter user Soilleir called it "basically illegible" and compared its characters to blobs.

While the issue on Windows 10 appears to make the Chirp font look worse than Twitter wants it to, many dislike the design of the font, even when rendered properly.

Many have asked Twitter to give more font options on the platform.
