The monthly Android patch is now rolling out for unlocked Surface Duo devices with some minor improvements.
What you need to know
- The Surface Duo is getting its March 2022 security update.
- The update is 236MB.
- The update bumps the system from version 2022.111.64 to 2022.113.26 and improves stability.
Following a few days after the recent Surface Duo 2 March update, the original Surface Duo is now due for its patch.
There's not a whole lot new in this monthly update, which comes in at 236MB, but besides the latest security fixes, it does improve "device stability," according to the changelog.
The update follows the more significant February release, which tidied up after the big Android 11 release in January, in addition to bringing Apps support to Your Phone.
Like previous Surface Duo releases, this initial wave is only for unlocked device versions. AT&T-branded Surface Duos are likely to get the patch sometime next week, and we'll update this article accordingly.
To grab the update on Surface Duo, follow these instructions:
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- Select Settings on your Surface Duo home screen.
- Select System.
- Select System Update.
- Select Check for update.
- Select Restart now.
